ABOUT
Hiya! I see you've stumbled on my portfolio somehow, welcome!
You've presumably looked at some of my stuff already by now, because that's up higher on the page.
So, let's talk a little about me now, the person who made that stuff.
My name's Walter, I'm a 24 year old game programmer and aspiring game dev tools developer hailing from the Netherlands.
I'm not one of those that has been wanting to do game development since they were negative 6 months old.
It wasn't until I was somewhat older that I really started appreciating games.
Even then, I didn't know it was a viable career option, it seemed like the movie industry;
Only done by a select talented and lucky few in far away countries. For games, America and Japan.
Now that I know this isn't necessarily the case I'm giving it my all to try and make some cool shit.
What makes me passionate about games is the combination of creativity and technology, as a kid my hobbies were drawing and fiddling about with tech/science, I wanted to be an inventor or a cool toymaker.
Well, what combines both technical and creative? I'd argue this medium most of all, Game Studios are basically the Avengers of art and science.
They have people great at Writing, Painting, Sculpting, Music, Architecture, Maths, Physics, Cinematography, Lighting, Voice Acting, Statistics, Geometry, and much much more!
All that to make the ultimate form of entertainment, interactive.
Who wouldn't want to be a little part of that?
